Metal transportation is relatively important part of steel enterprises, so optimizing its production dispatching is to reduce logistics costs and improve competitiveness and economic efficiency. It is more difficult to study metal transportation system, which is of multiple sources, multiple sinks, dual nature of logistics and so on. In the study of dispatching, it is vital to arrange metal production and the locomotive path and choose to wait and collision avoidance methods reasonably to improve locomotive efficiency. Comparing with the general railway network, metal transportation network is of larger randomization, smaller region, more railway branches, motorcycles and vehicles, which make dispatching more difficult. In this paper, physical partitions and logical classification are used to establish topology structure in road. Physical partitioning is based on dividing the network into several sub-regions in metal production processes, while the logic classification is based on the physical partition, and abstract the network into two levels. For smaller subnet, the Dijkstra method is adopted to search for shortest path. While the maximum probability approach method is used for more complex network in the middle area, which leaves maximum probability parallel approach for the subsequent approach and effectively reduce the metal vehicles' path conflict. The minimum cost and maximum flow is used to make the vehicles reasonably wait and avoid collision on the basis of the existing fixed approach. Also vehicles' manipulation and collision problems in site of iron and steel enterprises are briefly outlined. In the paper, the shortcomings of GPS technology and the advantages of combining the electronic tags and radio frequency technology are introduced. All of above provide technical support to verify the feasibility of solving the path of conflict. When described the simulation of metal transportation systems, the definition and steps of system simulation are briefly outlined. Comparing several simulation software, flexsim software has its unique advantages, such as modeling simply and quickly, good visual effect and compatibility, and therefore it is selected to use on the simulation modeling. Simulation model of the metal transportation system is established, and then we could simulate the operation and obtain the data, and finally analyzed the data. The results indicated that the number of locomotives must be suitable, the path arrangements must be reasonable. Also when a motorcycle occupied more turnouts, the path conflict would be generated with other motorcycle. The conclusions were consistent with the actual.
