With the improvement of the technology,the development of the reform of the power market,the relationship between the power network and the customers become increasly inseparable.In recent years, because the requirement of the level of the power quality has enhanced,some distributed power generation as renewable energy has increased,the traditional electric power network has been difficult to support the development requirements. So it lead people to have an idea about develop smart grid.Smart Grid is gradual development process accompanied with the technology innovation,demands of energy saving and managements needs.people will have their own understanding for Smart Grid,no matter if they are facility suppliers,IT companies,consulting firms,pubic power companies or power generation companies. Smart meter is the data collection terminals of the Smart Grid,it is one of the basic equipment of the data collection.Its primary role is to collect energy data,measure and transport the data.The paper focuses on the design of the multi-functional smart meter which running in Smart Grid. The main contributions of this thesis are as follows: 1 The system general design.According to the requirements of the customers to the smart meters,we analyze the characteristics of the smart meters,and determine the structure of the metres. 2 The hardare and software design of the smart meter.According to the general design,we have deatailed designed the hardware and software parts of the smart meter.According to real-time,efficiency,etc,the structure of a dual CPU that DSP+MCU have been chosen.The DSP is used to calculate the data,while the MCU is used for data management to achieve preservation,display,sending,and other functions.The major software design work is about the designing of the power energy measurement.Mainly through the FFT power measurement to realized that function.Because most DSP have their own FFT algorithms,therefore it has reduced our workload. 3 Error analysis of experimental results.First the paple described the classification of the error and the generation of the error,analized the experimental apparatus accuracy. Then according the result,analized the causes of the error. Since FFT is a kind of discrete sampling methods,so it may produce spectral leakage and picket fence effect.In order to overcome that,we have used windowed and interpolation method to compensate the results.Finally,on examination,the results have achieved the design requirements. 4 The design of AMR system.The last part of the paper have briefly introduced the structure of the AMR system,data transmission,and hardware design and software proess.The research results show that the windowed and interpolation method can reduce the barrier effct of the harmonic power measurement. The indicators can meet the sesign requirements.The structure of DSP+MCU will be widely used in real-time measuring instruments in future.
