The secondary development of Mechanical Engineering's software is order to broaden its scope of application to meet the specific requirements of users and to increase the functionality of software systems, to make it as a tool to assist the specific design. The article will use the engineering software Pro/ENGINEER and the finite element analysis software ANSYS to design and verificate the structural of bridge ship-unloader, developed a set of design as useful experience, combined with finite element structural analysis and verification, and optimization of the design structure of ship-unloader to design a set of "design, verification, optimization" Digital Design System.In the bridge ship-unloader, the metal structure supports the whole machine. With the rising of iron ore's price, the price of steel is also rising in recent years, which requires designers in addition to consider the structural factors, also need pay attention to the use of materials and the structure optimization. Because of the traditional design approach takes more manpower, more time-consuming, rely mainly on experience and other shortcomings, it can no longer meet the requirements of modern companies. The method of digital design in this article may solve these problems to some extent.This article describes structural features of ship-unloader. Through analysis of the overall structure of the ship-unloader find out Structures are box-section beam, so that choose the Boom as a representative work and the most complex structure to digital design.The Digital Design System base on Pro/ENGINEER and ANSYS,which strict accordance with the Design rules for cranes GB/T 3811-2008. Introduced some important concepts of Pro/ENGINEER secondary development and secondary development program Pro/TOOLKIT. In this article, using programming software tool VS2008 with the main tool Pro/TOOLKIT and dynamic link library DLL achieve communications among the three. With the size diagram prompt, designers can enter the data with Strength design theory and experience do not need to participate when the system began to work. As a result, designers can be very convenient and fast to make their ideas to models to achieve the purpose of saving time and efforts.When the three-dimensional model is generated, the system can use a pre interface program to turn the model in Pro/ENGINEER into ANSYS for finite element analysis and processing. Compare the model's stress, deflection and fatigue stress with the standard of Design rules for crane, we can obtain the results that model meets the standard or needs for optimization. In this article, there is an optimization method base on MATLAB, with this method we could get a more uniform stress distribution, smaller total mass of the Boom,which meets the standard.With the present Pro/ENGINEER's secondary development, most designers focus on parts design and small components design. In my opinion, we can use digital design to design the Large machines'structrue and mechanism in future.
