This thesis takes the pod electric propulsion system as the research object, in which the boat, machine, propeller is a whole, and takes the interference of wind, wave and current to the movement of ship into account, set up a "boat-machine-propeller" system simulation model. The main work of this paper is as follows:1. This paper introduces the structure and main parameters of the pod propulsion, analyses fluid dynamic characteristics of open water propeller and the pod propulsion. On this basis, a detailed analysis about the interaction between the pod propulsion and hull is given, and at last the improved algorithm about flow coefficient and advance coefficient is given.2. In this paper, the causes and classification of ship resistance is introduced, the calculation program of hull resistance is analyzed, and then the interference to the navigation of a ship from the wind, wave and current is studied, at last the specific modeling method of the wind, wave and current is given.3. Advanced from the motion equation of the conventional propulsion ship, the motion equation of pod propulsion ship is derived, and the method for calculating thrust coefficient and torque coefficient is given. Then the energy relationship of the ship, machine and propeller is analyzed, and on this basis, the mathematical model of the ship-machine-propeller system is established.4. According to the model of winds, waves and currents and the mathematical model of boat-machine-propeller system, the simulation model is build. Then according to the parameters of the real ship, the simulation experiment of typical conditions is done, at last the entire simulation model of ship-machines-propeller is verified by comparing the experimental results and actual ship trials reported data. Finally, it gives a summary about the paper's work and the problems, then proposes the envisaged of future work in-depth.
