With the many advantages of electric propulsion ship propulsion method has become the development direction as load devices and propellers which occupies an important position in the electric propulsion system.SRM has strong nonlinear characteristics and high-performance SRM is very difficult. But SRM as other types of electrical propulsion motors with unmatched superiority. In this paper the characteristics of the SRM, The model is based on linear inductance and the small-signal linear model calibration.the software MatLab/Simulink is used to analyze the performance of the model of control system.SRM propeller propulsion system through the existing open water propeller load mathematical model of experimental data, DC generator used as a form of propeller propulsion motor torque servo system to replace the load. This paper describes a switched reluctance motor propulsion systems, electrical equipment and load simulation software design process. Load characteristics of the propeller and its focus on software algorithm method.This paper also gave details of the electrical propulsion system and software design process. Experimental results show SRM as a propulsion motor, DC generator simulation propeller load electric propulsion system is feasible; SRM used in the paper for electric propulsion system was an attempt to ship.
