Recently, with the development of world economy, the quality of people's life has been continuously improving, especially the need for food is increasing constantly, which brings the growth of the volume of refrigerated cargo transportation at sea. The volume of refrigerated cargo shipping is up to 77 million tons in 2007,200 billion tons estimated till the year of 2015. So, global refrigerated cargo transport is a huge space for development, the frozen and refrigerated shipping containers as the main transport services in the next foreseeable period of time must be in short supply. But in the refrigerated cargo transport, cargo damage incidents occurring more and more.so it is necessary to improve the skill of refrigerated cargo transportation and the ability of ratings on board. The thesis gives the reason of the accidents that happened during the refrigerated cargo transportation, as following:Ambiguous understanding about the classification and nature of the refrigerated cargo before loading, especially unsure of the effect of freezing time on cargo quality;Lack of knowledge about the refrigerated vessel equipment and CA theory; Not enough preparation before and after loading; Not take dehydration into account in order to control the temperature in the hold.In order to improve transport efficiency and reduce cargo damage, based on the above consideration, the thesis summarizes the classification of the refer cargo, typical feature of the structure of refer ship and the mechanism of CA.Analyzed the prepartion for loading in details including examination of loading cargo and the correct stowage plan, such as classify various fresh products into groups mixed together.Meanwhile.take into account the qualification of the refer cargo effected by freezing time, this thesis caculate the freezing time of frozen cargo; combined with the caculation of dehydration during the freezing process. And at the end of this thesis, a method of caculating the volume of ventilation in refrigerated hold is presented, for the convenience to assure the the safty of refer cargo and staff concerned could be properly instructed.
