As a renewable resource, the application of wood relates to all aspects of daily life. For thousands of years for people the wood is used to solve the energy, shelter and other issues, but so far we have not made a really understand about wood. With the rapid development of science and technology, the emergence of the finite element method provides an effective method for people to solve this problem, and then take full advantage of computer simulation technology. The result of combining the two is a powerful tool to solve problems. In this paper, larch wood is the research object, by using ANSYS10.0 software under the high moisture content in timber beams under monotonic vertical load calculation and analysis of the plastic. Results which are calculated by the finite element compare to those of mechanics to verify the accuracy of modeling. Analysis of the wooden beam in the high moisture content changes of the stress and strain for further analysis using ANSYS software, wooden beams and columns in different water rate structure under the performance-based design and optimization of the basis for improving the understanding of wood properties, improve the utilization of wood has important practical significance. In this paper, using the finite element theory, mechanics of composite materials of wood science and a combination of methods together and those can be seen as a cross-discipline for future wood composites and other new materials research.
