Research On Traffic Safety Safeguard Technique Of Highway Work Zone

After building and opening to traffic, many highways and their establishments become aging and damaged, their capacities are insufficient and service levels drop with increasing of the traffic and processing of service time. So it needs maintenance or reconstruction, but as a result of construction the lanes number decreases, there are many tangled operating conditions, workers, construction machinery, construction roadside traffic barrier and constitute a dangerous environment the complexity of traffic, Is a section easy to induce the road traffic accident and traffic jams, so traffic safety situation is serious. So research on traffic safety safeguard technique of highway work zone has practical significance.Both domestic and aboard researches are analyzed, the problems of today and emphases of the paper are put forward. Firstly, summarized the highway work zone and the type of definition, and analyzed systematically the characteristics of the operations people, vehicles, roads and traffic flow, and summed up highway work zone to the danger of traffic. Secondly, analyzed the calculation method of reasonable length of operation area, warning area, transition area, buffer zone and work area in the highway work zone, and discussed the work zone arrangement during different construction stages. According to the characteristics of the highway operating, this paper studied the traffic signs, traffic marking, temporary isolation facilities, safety facilities, such as night-time construction of facilities setup in operating area. At last, consulting traffic organization of generic road works sections existing, considering travelling particularity of highway works sections enough, traffic organization of highway work zone was discussed in this paper. Different traffic organizations during highway construction was illustrated.Based on theoretical analysis of work zone studied above, a project case of the traffic safety safeguard technique of highway work zone of Jiangxi province is studied. The feasibility and efficiency of the view put forward is verified with the case.
