Research Of The Highway Landscape Design Based On Visual Characteristics

Along with the rapid development of China's economy and the continuous improvement of living standards of people, people have the higher level requirements of their spiritual and cultural life and living environment, only considering the use function in the design of highway cannot satisfy the people's need, so it is necessary to have the highway landscape design, for purpose of creating a beautiful driving environment. Because of the high speed of the car running on the highway, under different speeds drivers have different visual perception, we should have the highway landscape design based on the driver's visual characteristics.Based on reading related literature about highway landscape at home and abroad and the existing mature theoretical of highway landscape, we adopt the methods of on-the-spot investigation and network questionnaire survey, combined with the the actual situation of landscape of Xi Bao highway in shan'xi province, through the analysis of the drivers' visual characteristics, we put forward the concept of visual sensitivity of landscape, and divide it into three levels, then put forward the design methods of highway landscape located in the areas with different level of visual sensitivity of landscape. Based on analysis of the classification of the highway landscape elements, we classify the highway landscape into two categories:the line landscape elements(the medial divider, slope, sound barrier, guardrail and greening landscape on both sides)and the dot landscape(interchange, bridge, tunnel, service area, toll station and information signs), and study the design methods of the highway landscape, and apply them to the landscape design of Xi Bao highway.The research results of the paper provide some references for the highway landscape design, and is benefit for creating more beautiful and comfortable environment.
