Slow mode transportation is the most basic, important, health and low-carbon travel mode for urban residents, whether in the past, present or future is always the case. But with the development of urban mobility rapidly, urban transport planning is often to the development of vehicle as the strategic focus, ignoring the slow mode transportation, led to the slow mode transportation environment worsening and worsening and the space compressed mandatorily. So the slow mode transportation is lack of continuous and security, not to mention the comfort. It became a serious impediment to enhancing the quality of urban life and showing the urban charm.The paper presents a basic concept of systematization of slow mode transportation by summarizing the situation and existing problems of China's slow mode transportation system, combined with slow mode transportation safety and demand characteristics, to safe, convenient, comfort, healthy as the principle, adhering to the "people-oriented", promoting "the speed of separation", "slow first" strategy actively, in order to be sure the slow walkers'equal right of way and achieve the slow mode transport network security, accessibility and continuity.The paper, first, researches on the systematization of slow mode transportation at three levels—the macro, micro and meso, including the spatial distribution, security system, transportation facilities and the systematic design of typical slow mode transportation region. And the focuses mainly include the pedestrian system and bicycle system. Secondly, based on the urban residents slow mode transportation survey and GB, the paper set the design indicators of pedestrian and bicycle system'transport facilities specific and proposes slow traffic flow organization method for different types land and typical areas. It is in order to handle correctly the relationships between pedestrian and vehicle, bicycle and vehicle in the slow traffic spaces, and achieves convergence and coordination of slow mode transportation system itself and between slow mode transportation system and fast mode transportation system. Meanwhile, the paper researches encourage strategies of slow mode transportation, and promote systematic development from the perspective of government policy. Finally, taking Beijing Jiao tong University and the surrounding land as an example, the paper implements the systematization optimization of slow mode transportation.
