With the rapid development of our country’s economy and acceleratingurbanization process, urban traffic congestion and environmental pollution problemsbecome more and more serious. Vigorously developing slow-moving traffic isconsidered to be an effective measure to alleviate urban traffic congestion problems andimprove the urban environment, to which our big cities start to pay more attention. Therapid development of urban motorization and the low level of urban publictransporthinderthe development of slow traffic. The slow traffic system has not yet beenestablished, but also lack of being planned. Especially in the mountainous cities, speciallandform and stress factors such as land usemakethe slow traffic problems morecomplicated. Andthe developmentof bicycle system is very backward. Therefore, thestudy of slow traffic system planning in mountainouscitiesis necessary. This paper first gives the concept of mountainous cities and slow traffic, whichpoints out that the slow traffic mainly includespedestrian system and bicycle traffic, analyzes the travelcharacteristics of mountain urban residents, and analyzesthecharacteristics of mountainous urban slow traffic behaviorsfrom the macro and microaspects. Then this paper mainly studiesthe three related issuesofmountainous cities’slow traffic system planningbased on the characteristics of mountainous urban slowtraffic.Firststep is to extract the main influencing factors of forecasting the slow trafficshare rate, and set up prediction model of disaggregate transportationshare rate suitablefor mountain cities; Second step is to combine the characteristics of mountainouscitiesand existing research, and systematically study on the facilitiesdistributions ofslowtraffic system such aspavement, pedestrian crossing, three-dimensional pedestriancrossing facilities inthe pedestrian system and the bike lanes, public bike rental parkingspotsin bicycle system;Third step is to study the linkage issues between mountainouscities’ slow traffic and rail traffic analyze the rationality ofthelinkage characteristics, linkage mode, reasonable transfer area and linkage scalebetweenmountainous cities’slow traffic and rail traffic. Finally, the result of study will be applied to theslow trafficsystemfacilitiesdistributionsin Chongqing nanping district to verify the practicability ofslow traffic system planning issues in this paper.Through the example analysis, this paper analyzes three issues of slow traffic system planning in mountainouscities, which captures the key problem to slow trafficsystem planningin mountainouscities, and establishes a theory and method laying acertain foundationrelatively conforms to our country mountainous cities’ slow trafficsystem planning.
