Environment and resource issues have become the focus of attention around the world, in order to reduce material consumption, save energy, lightweight cars will be the direction of future development. Wheels are important safety components for the car, the selection of its materials not only relates with the development of lightweight, but also directly affects the car's performance. Aluminum alloy is the best choice for automobile wheels materials.For the design of car wheels, in order to meet the requirements of high strength, light quality and beautiful shape, designer should not only choose the light, fast and handsome in appearance materials, but also in its structure, layout on the overall design, as well as shape and size, which will make a reasonable optimum design to achieve the purpose of lightweight. Optimization is a technology for finding the optimal design, orientation of mechanical product design and innovation development, and an important means of survival and development for enterprises. With the development of science and technology, ANSYS analysis software has two optimization module, Design Optimization and Topology Optimization, which has become more sophisticated. This paper use ANSYS optimal design to expand the analytical study to get high strength and reduce materials of wheel.Analyzing the regions of car wheel where bearing the strongest stress on normal operating conditions by ANSYS software, and then make the rational design for these regions. Strive to the same constraints, impose the same stress load to get weaker stress, which will provide foundation for the car wheel bearing and lightweight. In order to save car wheel materials, improve acceleration of the car, reduce the vehicle driving resistance and the vehicle fuel consumption, automobile wheel parametric optimal design model was created by the APDL language which is provided by ANSYS software, and make wheel size optimization to reduce the quality of automobile wheels.In design of the shape of the spokes, in order to obtain the maximum utilization of materials through the method which removes materials. Finally, the optimal topology is obtained by processing which can be produced, until geting to meet the requirements of automobile wheels.
