Research On The Design And Application Of Roller Compacted Concrete Based On The Application Of Stabilization Mixer

The roller compacted concrete has the advantage of cement savings, good performance of durability, cost savings, easily pavement. Stabilization mixer adopts continuous twin-shaft mixer with the production about 400t/h. The mixture usually has the mixing time about 10s used by this kind of mixer. because of its shot capacity. Based on the research about the mixing time which the mixture need at least, we have modified the mixer and redesign the composition of the concrete to improve the efficiency of mix.By the exploration of relationship between mixing time, consistency and the strength we found that:when the mixing time increased, the consistency decrease, the strength promote and become stable. The RCC with workable behavior should be easy to compact. The exploration showed that the concrete whit small VC value need less mixing time to be uniform.Compare the mixing time of 20s and 120s, the affection of strength such as the maximum particle diameter, the amount of cement, water cement ratio, sand ratio, the proportion of mortar in concrete was studied, According to the shot mixing of 20s, we have redesign the composition of the materials. The maximum particle diameter was improved to 31.5mm, the ratio of sand, cement content, water cement ratio was 31%. 280 kg/m3,0.5. After 28 days standard curing, compare the mixing time of 20s and 120s. the results showed small difference.RCC mixture proportioning procedures and properties differ from those used for conventional concrete due to the relatively stiff consistency of the fresh RCC. It needs more mixing time to reach the workable concrete. Based on the past research of stabilization mixer, making full use of the advantage of efficiency mixing. the modification has made:increase another watering spot; change the angle of the mixing blade, and reduce the production to 200t/h, prolong the mixing time to improve uniformity.In the practical application of stabilization mixer mixing RCCP, the detection results have satisfied the correlated requirement. Through this study we prove that the construction technology was proper.
