Energy is the material basis of human activities, with the rapid development of economy, the contradiction between energy production and consumption is becoming more and more prominent, and the contradiction betwee energy and environment is also that, developing renewable energy has become the focus in all countries. As a kind of renewable energy, wind power can reduce the pollution of the environment, adjust electric power industry structure, promote technological progress, therefore it received extensive development and application in all countries of the world. Using wind power in China is still at the beginning, developing wind power vigorously has become important China's energy strategy component.In this paper, project investment benefits and risks of Wu Xiangliang wind farm were analyzed. The research status of wind power in both in domestic and abroad was firstly introduced. The wind resources status of Wu Xiangliang wind farm were collected and analyzed thoroughly, after analyzing and calculating the weather station data and wind towers data, the result that this area had the good wind development potential and is suitable for the construction of large wind farm was reached. The wind generator types and arrange scheme of Wu Xiangliang wind farm were identified through the comparative analysis, according to relevant data, the grid-connected electric quantity and equivalent full load grid-connected hours every year were calculated. The total amount of investment of Wu Xiangliang wind farm project were estimated, financial analysis was made from two aspects that were total cost and power generation revenue, financial capacity of the project investment was evaluated by using dynamic analysis method, and a sensitivity analysis and profit and loss balance analysis were carried out, the results showed that the project is feasible. Finally, the risks that Wu Xiangliang wind project may encounter in the process of development and operation were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively, risk factors was evaluated based on AHP method, and the result was that the risk level of Wu Xiangliang wind project was in mid-level.This paper is to provide important mirror and reference for the smoothly development of Wu Xiangliang wind project, and also to provide reference value for the construction of other large wind farms.
