Earthquakes are hard to predict, the main reason of earthquake disaster is buildings collapse, The most important way against earthquake disasters is to do reasonable aseismic design for buildings.But it is very hard for people to select right seismic record briefly to do aseismic design,so that many engineers often do aseismic design for buildings just using the seismic records which are selected random from any record datas or few typical records.As the input of ground motion which is a very important step for aseismic design lacks theory basis and evaluation methods,so it leads that there is large uncertainty in analysis results.Therefore,it is a very important to study the input of seismic in-depth.In this paper,the author made the following job on the basis of reading many documents.(1) The first chapter describes the development course of aseismic design, the important status of ground motion input in aseismic and the problems of ground motion input.(2) The second chapter introduces the basic seismic knowledge, discusses the three elements of seismic:,the characteristics of amplitude, frequency,and duration,and the influence to reaction of structure.(3)The third chapter expounds theory of response spectrum and calculation process of vibration mode method introduces dynamic time-history analysis model and deduces solving method of the motion equations; Meanwhile, compared to all kinds of existing selecting programs of seismic records,and also studys the characteristics and shortage of every program.(4) The fourth chapter put structure dynamic parameters (vibration cycle) and seismic characteristic parameters (Inflection point cycle of acceleration response spectrum of seismic) as an important reference index, and on the basis of the existing information of seismic record data(peak ground motion, site category,magnitude,distance ect) add inflection point cycle which is coincident to standard spectrum for every seismic record.After this, according to a certain principle screen 58 lever records from records in the fourth site category,then divide into several groups by inflection point cycle and compute the maximum acceleration responses of two models under the input of 58 records. Through the research found that, the method of aseismatic analysis and design by using the seismic records which are selected by according to the structural vibration period and acceleration response spectrum inflection point cycle can reflect the largest characteristics of structure's response,and it is simple convenient, specific and Easy to operation.(5) The fifth chapter summarizes for the all work and discusses the further study for seismic input.
