With the development of the global economy integrating, the container terminal has become an important node of the transportation, and the thruput increases every year, which puts forward higher requirement to the container terminal management. The gate system of container terminal is the operation channel for trucks to carry containers to move into or out of the container terminal and play an important role in enhancement of service quality of container terminal. In the terminal yard, gantry cranes are very important resource, and the effective use of them can elevate the operational efficiency and reduce the operating costs of container terminal tremendously.This thesis uses Petri Net theory, optimizing theory and Flexsim simulation to analyze and research on the gate system, gantry cranes dispatch and configurate the resources of the gate and yard reasonably. This can improve the operation efficiency of container terminal and reduce unnecessary investment, reduce the operating cost. Work in two areas of this thesis is shown as follows:1. This thesis put forward the gate SPN model on the base of stochastic Petri net (SPN) theory and computed system state's steady probability and analyzed model's performance indexes on the base of reachability tree and Markov chain. The time parameters are associated with the transition in the SPN implement regulation.2. This thesis Research on the schedule optimization of gantry cranes and Ant colony algorithm is used to solve this problem. Time window constraint is added in ant colony algorithm in the procedure of solving the problem. Scheduling schemes can be decided for the gantry cranes in the simulation model3. This thesis set up a flexsim simulation model of container terminal. According to research purpose, this model designed basic parameters, operation flow, cell modules, and evaluation index. This model established simulation contents and make the simulation experiment, so the simulation optimization method can be used to optimize the allocation of resources and make sure the gate channel resources and yard resources will be used effectively and reasonably.
