The change in the population structure is the product of the development of the society, as well as the increasing aging population trend. Nowadays, the increasing trend of the aging population has become one of the most important problems all over the world. In the global conditions, including our nation, many countries have been in the line of becoming "old aging mould". How to solve the pressure from the aging population, to create the circumstances which are beneficial to the elderly, to show the concerns from the society, has been the imperious problem to the development.This paper is a study on design of the outdoor recreation and exercise place for the elderly in the community. Through collecting the researches, question airing, photographing, visiting and analyzing the data, we can understand the special physical and psychological demands of the elderly. And by analyzing the outside behaviors of the elderly, the study discusses the reasonability of the outdoor recreation and exercise place for the elderly in the community. Sequentially, the discussion about its possibility of the scale and location are in the line. At the end of the paper, some feasible solutions are come up.To the elderly, the appropriate design which increase the identity of the community, can inform belonging and security. In terms of the outdoor behaviors of the elderly, the author analyzes the sport space, the static space, and the relationship between them. in terms of the existing problems which have occurred over and over again, the author describes some corns of the solution to the problems. Besides requiring more social concerns, the paper also be hoped to be the reference to the future design in some extend.
