Virtual prototype technique is an important method which can shorten the study and development period of vehicle, improve quality of products design and manufacture. As the gradual maturity of virtual production development and manufacture technique, computer simulation technology has been used widely. System dynamics simulation is the key point of digitalized virtual prototype technique. As for the vehicle, its dynamics performance is very important. In order to minimizing the risk of the study and development on products, it is important to simulate vehicle dynamics performance and optimize parameter by digitalized virtual prototype before the production of sample car.First of all, according to the relative motion relationship of suspension between the various components and parameters of each component, a model of the Macpherson suspension is built by using multi-body system dynamics simulation software ADAMS/Car template. The kinematics and elastic kinematics simulation for the Macpherson suspension were carried out under the simulation of parallel wheel travel and comparing with the simulation results. The result revealed that the elastic component have influence to the wheel location parameters. This can effectively improve vehicle manipulation stability.On this basis, this article establish every parts vehicle virtual prototype simulation model including rear suspension system, steering system, horizontal stabilizer bar subsystem, front and rear tire system, disc brake subsystem, Vehicle body system. Vehicle virtual prototype model is assembled by using ADAMS/Car Ride temple. Road surface profile generator is compiled based on the requirements of our country current vehicle ride comfort test standards GB/T 4970-1996"vehicle ride comfort random input driving test method"The vehicle model was carried out ride simulation test of random input and pulse input under virtual four post test-bed, calculating and analyzing vehicle ride comfort evaluation performance target. Simulation result shows that the ADAMS/Car Ride can simply and effectively execute vehicle ride simulation test. The objective of ride predication and analysis for vehicle are realized during design phase to provide design basis for vehicles pre-development.The whole research work concentrates on the vehicle products virtual simulation analysis and preliminary achieved vehicle system dynamics important performance simulation analysis on computer. It provides some data and experience accumulation for the further more depth and complexity research on this theme. It is of practical significance to reduce physical prototype manufacturing and physical experiments workload in the vehicle product development process.
