The design of special purpose vehicle must satify requirements of special purpose besides basical ones. So it is very important using virtual prototype technology in this domain for improving the performance of vehicle and shortening the development period. In terms of the theory of multi-body system dynamics and the mechanical system dynamics software ADAMS, the full vehicle multi-body dynamics model of the military special purpose vehicle is built. In the process of modeling the vehicle multi-body dynamics model, improved way for simulation the complicated leaf spring by 3 beams is proposed based on the research of the modeling of leaf springs. In this way, DOE which based on ADAMS/Insight is used to analyze the parameter of the model which would affect the stiffiness, then the RSM method is used to optimize the model and make the stiffiness equal to target value.According to the national criterion: Method of random input running test and Method of pluse input running test, the virtual road tests on the vehicle ride comfort are designed. In this process, sofeware used to build the roadmap which the tests needed is developed, and driver model is also designed to form closed loop system which can make the vehicle run straight. The performances are evaluated according to the datas obtained from the tests. At last, the orthogonality test is used to analyze the factors which would affect ride comfort, the best matches scheme of the optimum parameter is found, it has important meaning for the forecasting of ride comfort and improving product.
