Thermal spraying coating is a novel technology used for surface hardening, which is operated in an isolate chamber filled with the inert gas at the constant pressure. The chamber should be firstly vacuumed, leading to the intensive heat production. The heat should be removed in time to avoid the malfunction of the spraying coating equipment. In this paper, a new air-conditioning system was proposed and studied to provide a good working condition.By considering the limitation of the working space, the outdoor circulation is used to remove the indoor heat. The evaporator of air conditioner is equipped in the air duct. Thus, the evaporator is redesigned to meet the operation requirement and reduce its size. The physical model and mathematical model are developed, and AIRPAK software is used to simulate the flow field and temperature field. The position and size of the vents for delivering air and returning air are optimized that can immediately remove the indoor heat produced during the working process. The negative pressure may occur in the air duct during the operation that requires the higher strength of the duct. The physical model and mathematical model are also developed to the study the duct structure and envelope frame. ANSYS software is used to calculate the intension and deflection of the duct. The reasonable configurations of air duct and envelop frame are determined.According to the above results, a new air-conditioning system is designed and built up. Based on the on-site observation and measurement, it is found that the system runs well and provides a good working condition for the thermal spraying coating. This study is of great significance for the development and application of the thermal spraying coating technology.
