This paper, by analyzing three-dimensional modeling techniques for constructing vehicle running environment model, and by researching the database organization method for models of three-dimensional reconstruction of road accident, lay the foundation for the establishment of the three-dimensional virtual reconstruction platform, which is one important component of road traffic accident analysis and reconstruction system. Using the three-dimensional virtual reconstruction platform of road traffic accident, we can comprehensively, and intuitively analyze the causes of the accident, and provide an important basis for the scientific, just and efficient treatment; the same time, from the analysis of a large number of accidents reconstruction, the characteristics and laws for the occurrences of accidents can be summarized, that can provide the necessary guidance for the accident prevention and the development of relevant measures. This paper, in order to construct the lifelike vehicle running environment model, mainly studies the following contents:This paper analyzed the main objects in the scene of accident environment, using 3ds Max software as the core of the modeling platform, from the shape and appearance properties of objects on the vehicle running environment scene, researched technologies of the polygon modeling, lofting modeling, materials and textures, to meet the realistic requirement of the three-dimensional virtual reconstruction system.From the three aspects of the shape and appearance properties, and data organization for models, the simplification algorithm, texture optimization methods, and model cell division, LOD and instance technologies were studied. The application of these technologies, realized the optimization of models, that balanced the contradictions between the finesse and the speed of real-time displaying for models and adapted to the requirement of the three-dimensional virtual construction system.described data collection methods, such as size, location and texture data of the object, and discussed the method of data processing, making it more conducive to realistic modeling of scene objects, Through researching of the design for vehicle running environment model database of road traffic accidents, and the unified approach to name and encode the model files, realized the storage and organization of the generated three-dimensional models, that facilitated the management of queries and re-use of the three-dimensional models.
