Now, with the formation and development of global markets, both developed and developing countries are increasing emphasis on the design and development of FMS, it will become an important direction of the future development of manufacturing automation.Based on the development prospects of Flexible Manufacturing System, it is necessary to make students understand the knowledge about this area, thus take Siemens Industrial Control Equipment as a research platform, design research on Flexible Manufacturing System Based on PROFIBUS-DP will be the main purpose of this design. First, this article analysis and compares to the traditional Flexible Manufacturing System, drafts the more advantaged general design scheme of Flexible Manufacturing System Based on PROFIBUS-DP. Second, on the basis of being familiar with hardware structure and function, the master station and other sub-stations control program will be written by STEP 7 ladder language, so as to achieve the sub-station's modular design of the lower computer.Third, research and design the Logistics system and monitoring system. The keys of the chapter are using STEP 7 to finish hardware configuration and using Kingview to draw the Monitor screen. Finally, after the overall design is completed, the system will be integrated debugged, and give the result and effect evaluation.The studies show that the results show that the Flexible Manufacturing System Based on PROFIBUS-DP can play the advantages of fieldbus very well, and can well overcome the shortcomings of traditional Flexible Manufacturing System, it plays the positive role in improving and enhancing flexible manufacturing technology.
