With China's rapid economic growth and the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization, the consumption structure of resident has been in the process of upgrading. Due to the increasing demand for energy, China's sustainable development is in face of huge challenges. Building energy consumption accounts for a considerable proportion in all energy consumption, and it is about 30%~40% of a country's total energy consumption. Therefore, it's of great practical significance to reduce the building energy consumption today, meanwhile developing the efficient thermal insulation wall material and building envelope with good airtightness is one of the important measures to achieve the sustainable development in the circles of architecture. And the enery-saving building wall material has become the highlight to be researched and developed in building in all over the world. Rice-hull mortar lightweight composite wall panel, developed by the Harbin Xinghe Co.,Ltd, is a wall panel with lightweight, high strength, good performance of heat preservation and noise insulation.Rice-hull mortar lightweight composite wall panel proposed in this paper is made of rice-hull cement, zinc-coated wire mesh and steel frame. Rock wool board with good performance of heat preservation and sound insulation is also composited in this type of wall panel. Rice hull, as a byproduct of agricultural production, is often used as fuel or disposed as trash in rural areas that not only pollutes the environment but also causes lavishing. To solve this problem, the rice-hull mortar that is composited with Portland cement, sand, rice hull and a number of additive is developed by Harbin Xinghe Co.,Ltd. Rice-hull mortar has a good characteristic of high strength, lightweight as well as heat preservation. According to test standards, the properties of the sound insulation, fire resistance and heat preservation of the rice-hull mortar lightweight composite wall panel is tested. The application range of this type of wall panel is also evaluated in accordance with relevant national standards. And to ensure that the rice-hull mortar lightweight composite wall panel has enough capacity to resist deformation and bearing capacity to meet the requirement during service, the structure of the wall panel and the connection with the building is optimally designed.Rice-hull mortar lightweight composite wall panel, as envelope and separation components, will be applied to residential building 1# and residential building 5# in the Qingzhen Residential Community in Harbin. Based on the architectural drawings, the specific design on the rice-hull mortar lightweight composite wall panel of these two buildings is carried out. Construction method and the formwork technics for the wall panel is also introduced.
