Electrical eddy current retarder can take on 50-90 percent braking work,which cool the wheel clutch greatly,thereby,electrical eddy current retarder can keep wheel braking system in order to work. Beside,using electrical eddy current brake also can make the vehicle run more smoothly and decrease the noise effectively while braking.Our company is a major production of bus chassis and buses businesses. With the improvement of living standards, people are increasingly demanding comfort means of transport, operating companies also raised the quality of the vehicle a higher demand. National laws and regulations of the grade configuration of passenger cars also given clear instructions. In order to meet market needs, enhance the quality of our products, into the years, our company has achieved sales of passenger car chassis eddy current retarder bulk loading. And with the eddy current retarder manufacturers work together to meet the passenger car assembly joint development of the retarder.The paper analyzes the present status of our country road firstly,finds out the necessity of using the retarder,expounds the structure,operating principle,installation and the service performance of electrical eddy current retarder. In order to make operation convenient,lessen weary and rasie safety on the continuous downhill road,the study puts for ward intelligent control method on continuous braking system of the electrical eddy current retarder,and designs intelligent control system basing on Protel 99 SE. At last,the thesis brings forward testing method on the all-around test bed of coach-bus chasis。The study lays a foundation of products development.
