Refer to the 23rd China Internet Development Statistics Report from CNNIC (China Internet Network Information Center),until the end of 2008,Instant messenger products has occupied the top space of all categories in Internet basic service. The number of registered username has overtaken 1.609 billion in China. Instant messenger is not only a single dimension messenger product, but also become a application platform with Multiple scenes . Gradually, it turns into Internet online life platform.However, although the Instant messenger products keep a large amount of use groups, a lot of problems exist in it, not only due to the complex function grown with the rapid advancement of technology, but also owing to the defects of interaction design. The problems influence more than 1 billion users' experience and operating efficiency.The thesis investigates some typical instant messenger products and UI design from internal and abroad , on basis of design principles and analysis, the universal problems are found, that is contradictory problems in it, and search the source of contradictory problems from the life cycle of instant messenger. In the course of analyzing and summing-up in this article, it is being putted forward a view that the main source of this problem is the contradictions between functional design and interactive design, besides the related origins is being discussed.After coming up with the ideas about the roots of contradictory problems. Modern Design Theory,Design Methodology and Psychology have been used in this article to bring up comprehensive solutions related to the problems ,that is making use of Design Methodology, System Design, Design Principle, Interactive Law to judge and solve the problems.In the end, this article takes the programmes of CDC(Customer Research & User Experience Design Center) as examples, after comparing and analyzing datas of involved users, it expands on source of the contradictory problems in instant messenger products in detail. Finally, solutions specific to these problems are elaborated and proved in the manner of cases.
