Combined with the design requirements of Muji design concept, the paper studied the usability design of minimalism on the basis of kitchen utensils.Because of the special environment of the kitchen, kitchen design should have the advantages of high efficiency based on operation convenient, efficient identifiability,efficient operation, efficient feedback, efficient error correction. According to the survey findings, today’s designers of kitchen utensils mainstream design remains in "interesting design" and "intelligent design" "emotional design", this design has many instead brought operational use of unnecessary trouble, seems to have ignored the availability of the most fundamental. Therefore, to ensure that the designed products to solve the most basic problem based on user demand, minimalist design effectiveness, efficiency, availability of kitchen appliances products has become a problem need further research.The minimalism and usability design into people’s lives(Kitchenware) is the main research purpose of this topic. This paper explores the relationship between the usability design and kitchenware products, summed up a set of kitchen appliances product availability effective design principles and methods; through the viewpoint "minimize the feasibility design" and "minimizing usability design" of systematic research, combined with the feature of the kitchen utensil, innovative and proposes kitchenware usability design based on the minimalist and the method of design angle, is put forward to evaluate the usability of a product system of kitchen utensils, and through the electric rice cooker examples verify the effectiveness of the proposed method and the feasibility of.This paper will combine sability theory method and minimalist concept, the design process of kitchen utensils, provides certain reference for the design of kitchen utensils domestic availability.
