Transit OD Matrix Reckoning Based On IC Card Data And Bus GPS Information

With the urbanization in China getting faster, the related problems such as traffic jams and congestion became more and more serious. In this case, giving priority to developing public transportation as the main means to solve the urban traffic problems is recognized by urban traffic management department. But considerable deficiencies still exists in the access method while collecting the information of the transit trips OD which is the basic information of developing pubic transportation. So if we can find a new method to collect the information of transit trips OD, that is meaningful to solve the urban traffic problems.Based on the advantage and disadvantage analysis of the survey method of transit trips, and the studies on the trip time distribution characteristics of public transport passenger flow, the paper presented using the information of public transportation vehicle and the data of IC card to calculate transit trips OD, and got the calculating method. Main contents include the following several aspects:The survey method of transit trips has been retrospected, and the advantage and disadvantage of that has been analyzed. The trip time distribution characteristics of public transport passenger has been analyzed by using the survey data of transit trip, and the feasibility analysis by using the data of the passenger with IC card as the sample of all the passenger has also been studied. Then the related contents and the development course of IC card charging system and the transit GPS monitoring system have been introduced, the data of IC card and the information of public transportation vehicle GPS have been fused by using data fusion theory. On this basis, the transit trip OD matrix of single bus line and the whole city have been calculated by using the fused data of single passenger under the principle of the"total transit trip unchanged". Finally, the calculating method has been excogitated. The transit trip OD matrix calculated by the method is accurate basic information, and can be reference warranty for transit planning, line network optimization and the terminal layout, as well.Though, the related theories studied in this paper can not be put into practical application in a minute, and still need to be adjusted and optimized in the actual and applied process, it can be used as a train of thought of getting transit trip OD matrix, and make optimization to the method of transit trip survey.
