With the development of modern Industrial Surveying, precise surveying becoming an universally concernment increasingly, especially, setting-up or maintaining coordinate system by high-precision surveying method becoming an important problem within Precise Engineering Surveying. With the virtues of non-contact, high-accuracy and high-sensitivity, Optical Collimation Surveying Method was widely used in aviation, space, precise manufacture and installation and so on.In this paper, an inclusion was drew about the Optical Collimation Surveying method, a study was carried out on setting-up coordinate system using collimation surveying, and related experiments together with applications was finished. The contents are as follows:1. The theory of Optical Collimation Surveying was analyzed; new methods such as Outer-Target Method, Laser Method were put forward; the advantages and disadvantages of several methods were compared.2. A few ways about Azimuth Passing on Indoor Short-Line were researched and theodolite was used in this work; the means using self-collimation cross and inner and outer target respectively were compared to realize a high-precision in Azimuth Passing.3. Taking cubic-mirror as an example, this paper described the process of setting-up coordinate system by Optical Collimation Surveying & theodolite inter-aiming and obtaining cubic-mirror's pose; analyzed the un-orthogonal axis in coordinate system setting-up and gave the correct-method and process. Also the theory and method in cubic-mirror pose pass using several cubic-mirrors by translating the cubic-mirror coordinate system and surveying coordinate system was studied.4. A software was written on Optical Collimation Surveying. The software is capable of controlling theodolite on-line, managing Collimation Surveying of cubic-mirror, setting-up cubic-mirror coordinate system and passing or resuming related poses.5. The Optical Collimation Surveying technique and the cubic-mirror poses passing technique were applied in two projects, the'calibration of cubic-mirrors used as benchmark'and the'high-precision cabin surveying'. Detailed surveying scheme was put out and validated by experiment. A test was finished at last.
