| China today, the process of urbanization is very fast. Urban regionalization and regional urbanization trend is clearly taking place. The metropolitan area is on the forming. The urban spatial form and size of the area changed dramatically. China's large cities to choose which of the spatial development approach to deal with development pressure to meet the growing needs of space, is the hot topics urban planning research on in recent years. The clustering city's model provides a new space model of learning to improve the domestic urban planning theory system for the Chinese urban development. This study base on the typical central cities - Wuhan metropolitan. Through the study of Wuhan land development, summing up the cluster-type space growing process characteristics and regular pattern, in order to improve the clustering theory, and to provide support for the regionalization of the central city space for the development of guidance and control and planning decision-making.This article includes the following five components:Chapter I, the introduction part of this article, which introduces the subject of sources and research background , explains related concepts and so on.Chapter II, take the process of Wuhan city's spatial growth as the guide. Discuss the status of Wuhan city transformation and the growth. Sum up the characteristics of urban construction in periods of Wuhan.Chapter III, take the data of Wuhan land development in 1990s, as the research base, and the area of Wuhan metropolitan as the geographical area, make out the land development, timing, type, size analysis of the Wuhan spatial distribution in past 20 years, as to sum up the characteristics of land development in Wuhan.Chapter IV, after the Wuhan city spatial growth and the land development process analysis, to explain the major factor, which impact the urban development Wuhan space, to study the Wuhan verify cluster-type characteristic .Divided the urban development process of Wuhan cluster-type space, into formation stage, then sum up the spatial growing characteristics and regular pattern of Wuhan metropolitan. Chapter V, take the major problems as well as the rationalization proposals in the development process of cluster-type space, on the base of the present situation of the development of Wuhan City,. Finally, Make prospects for the development of cluster-style theory.Which need to Particular clarify is that empirical analysis is the focus of this study. In the part of the data collection, processing and analysis, the article attaches great importance to the authenticity of data and analytical rigor. Based on the raw data of Planning and Land Bureau and data management in GIS system, and strive to restore the true urban land development process; using three-dimensional modeling approach to reflect the spatial distribution of land development in order to clear analysis of the conclusions. The work laid the foundation for the made of the Wuhan metropolitan cluster-type spatial growth characteristics and regular pattern.In need of special note is the empirical analysis is the focus of the study section. In the empirical process attaches great importance to this analysis of the data authenticity and rigor, using GIS systems as data collection, processing platform, using charts, models, and other visual forms of expression, to analysis the various characteristics of land development, giving a detailed basis for the summarized the characteristics and regular pattern.
