With Chinese large cities getting into rapid development stage,urban population increases substantially, and with the economic development, living standard is improved and the demand for urban transport increases quickly. However, relative backwardness of urban public transportation restricts the development of urban space. Having the advantages of convenient, fast, comfortable and large volume, Urban Rail Transit (URL) can effectively alleviate the urban traffic pressure, guide the development of urban space and optimize the layout of urban land. Currently, Chongqing is facing a major adjustment of urban spatial structure and the large-scale construction of URL, so it's the best time to adjust urban spatial structure and transportation mode. Therefore, study on the influence of URL on Chongqing urban spatial evolution is of great practical significance.This paper discusses the influence of URL on Chongqing urban spatial evolution from the following aspects:using the city attraction field model based on the generalized travel cost of the rail traffic to analyze the guiding role played by rail traffic in the Chongqing"multi-center"development model; Establishing the reasonable area model of URL based on the generalized travel cost, the influence of conventional public transit, and the Geometric Analysis Method, and the reasonable area of Chongqing URL Line 2's site was calculated by the model based on the generalized travel cost; Analyzing and comparing the three typical models of the real estate value - Travel Cost Model, Hedonic Prince Model and Linear Expenditure System Hedonic Model, and then the impact of Chongqing urban rail transit construction on the real estate along is researched through the Hedonic Prince Model; Analyzing the correlation between Chongqing transportation investment and regional economic development in recent years based on Granger causality test, and the support degree of URL on regional economic development is studied by the relevant principles about regional economic linkages and accessibility and the introduction of accessibility impedance.Finally, the roles of the Chongqing URL plays in the urban spatial scale, resident site, urban development axis, population spatial distribution,"multi-center"development mode and significant areas development are concretely analyzed, and the paper proposes the suggestion of establishing TOD mode by rail transit and the concrete suggestion of TOD development along the planning and construction of URL from year 2013 to 2020 in Chongqing.
