With rapid development of information technology and the computer technology, it is no longer an assumption to import virtual laboratory and virtual experiment technology to teaching experiment practice.The traditional teaching mode of experiment in new background exposes some shortcomings and meets the needs of teaching hardly now. Virtual experiment is unique for that it's a set of software system simulating the reality, using virtual model to simulate physical experiment with computer technology and graphic function, to realize the purpose of experiment in the application system. The great advantages of virtual experiment have been proved in practice. It breaks the limitations of experiment time, place and equipment in the traditional experiment mode. It also has become an important mean of promoting modern education reform and the progress of experiment teaching.This paper have a innovative try to apply virtual experiment to the electrical machinery & dyive experiment teaching. It completes traditional motor experiment by means of computer technology. To build virtual laboratory of fundamentals of motor & dyive course, the main task can be roughly divided into two parts: creating virtual experiment interface and simulation model. Virtual experiment interface is the environment showed to the user directly, including experimental operation and principle, different expression of experiment results and other related functions. virtual experiment interface is based on LabVIEW, which is software platform of virtual instrument. Simulation model is the key part of virtual experiment. It determines wheather the experiment objects response to the operater correctly in virtual experiment systerm. MATLAB/Simulink is used to set up the simulation model. Solidworks, a 3D design software, is used to design the motor's 3D model to show motor's action in different experiments.It's a highlight of the systerm design.The experimental interface and simulation model base on MATLAB/Simulink and LabVIEW. It becomes one difficulty of subject research that the rapid and correct communication between interface and simulation model in LabVIEW. By using Simulation Interfae Toolkit(SIT) proposed by NI corperation, the comnuunication is completeted between interface and simulation model in LabVIEW. It realizes data transmission and interactive operation in virtual experiment.
