Electric vehicle whose energy is power battery loaded on the vehicle is a kind of zero emission vehicles and is one of available ways to solve the problems of energy source's lack and pollution of environment. In recent years, the upsurge of developing electric vehicle is rising all over the world, and developing to the big amount commercialization production gradually. The development of electric vehicle is relying on the progress of several subjects. Especially, further raising the dynamic performance, increasing the driving range and reducing cost are very necessary. In view of this, object of this paper is electric vehicles based on solar energy as an auxiliary. using the computer to establish the virtual test system to simulate the dynamic performance is a better way.The virtual reality (VR) technology is an advanced computer technology that has developed tremendously in recent years. Formed by the interactive computer simulation of a media that can sense the position and movement participants, replace or enhance one or more sensory feedback, it create a kind of immersion in the simulation environment or in the virtual world of feeling, and the virtual reality technology has three main characteristics that are interaction, immersion and imagination. Due to these characteristics, it is widely applied in many domains, such as industry, military, medical service and education program and so on.The main research of the paper is focused on the development of virtual experiment system of electric vehicle with the help of virtual reality, to improve some disadvantages of traditional automobile experiments, such as longtime-consuming, much risk and investment. This paper applies the ADVISOR to built the relevant automobile dynamics model and simulation performance of economic and dynamic, and establish a virtual scenes based on the combination of VRML, Therefore, a desktop virtual reality system has been developed based on VR technology and ADVISOR. The motion of vehicle under various running conditions can be simulated with the application of the virtual experiment system based on the convenience of the visualization of VR and the effectiveness of human-machine interaction. It provides a new platform and method for product developing and confirming, performance analyzing and evaluating with the parameters resulting from the virtual experiment system. Although the virtual experiments for vehicle can not take the place of the experiments of real vehicle completely, it possesses many advantages, such as fund-saving, danger-decreasing, easy repetition and understanding when compared with the traditional experiments of real vehicle. It not only can be used for the performance analysis of entire vehicle, but also for the subsystems. It is important both on theoretical research and practice in the development of the virtual experiment of vehicle with the application of VR technology.
