In recent years,China's auto production and ownership continue to grow.At the same time,the number of drivers,especially amateur drivers,has increased dramatically,which proposes a great challenge to the development of new type of car products and the drivers' training.Along with the continuous development of virtual reality technology,the research of vehicles' virtual driving system has gradually become an important development trend,which provides an effective way to solve the above problem.In the automotive basic research and product development process,using the virtual driving device for a number of tests can not only reduce costs and improve efficiency,but also carry out repeated tests without being limited by the environment.For the drivers' training,using a driving simulator can not only shorten the training period,but also reduce fuel consumption while reducing environmental pollution.Based on an in-depth study of the current development of domestic and foreign automotive virtual driving system,this thesis primarily to research a kind of virtual driving system based on a common PC.The main contents of the thesis include:(1)Put forward the overall structure of the system,and determine the overall solutions and process of system development in accordance with the design principles of virtual driving system.(2)According to the modeling principles of visual system,use 3ds Max software to create all the scene models of the virtual driving system,including ground model,building model,virtual sky model,car model and so on.Then,optimize the models,after which import them to Quest3 D development platform for the synthesis of virtual 3D scene.(3)Use the Newton dynamic engine in the Quest3 D to carry out dynamic settings for the car model,for example,adding auxiliary driving objects and dynamic joints,transformation of rigid body and adding dynamic material,etc.Through the above measure,the car model is converted into a dynamic car with real physical properties,which contribute to simulate more realistic driving behavior.(4)Realize the car model's movement and steer by adding a driving logic to drive the static car mode.Then,add a number of functional modules to improve the system.Real-time collision detection and follow camera module make the whole scene system more realistic,while the sound module makes the system a high degree of immersion.This thesis realizes the basic motion simulation and control of the car model successfully,which lays the foundation for the further development of the virtual driving system.Thus,it has certain research and application value.
