In this paper, the main task was to compile a parametric program on flexible suspended pantograph-catenary coupling system, did the overhead-catenary static form-finding calculation and made a numerical simulation research on pantograph-catenary system with overlapping section.Described a method of parametric modeling by using ANSYS and APDL, established parametric model of flexible suspended catenary system with overlapping section and dynamic model of pantograph-catenary coupling system.After the establishment of model, a check on the static form finding of simple and elastic chain was proceed. The results tallied with SIEMENS software's with an error of no more than 2.2%. Then, another comparison between them on dynamic current collection was done, that had a similar results too, which showed that the model was reasonable and can be put into use to guide practical engineering.Overlapping section, in the paper, was an innovative point. Established two pairs of contact elements by the set of key words when deal with the overlapping section, realized the transition of pantograph-catenary from one section to another, build parametric model of pantograph coupled with. overlapping section. By changing parameters of catenary and pantograph, computed parameters' effect on the prosperities of dynamic system, which suggested the maximum contact force and maximum displacement of pantograph and contact wire were at overlapping section. The results indicated that overlapping section of flexible suspend catenary system will have effect on current collection. Found out several key factors that affect current collection of catenary by comparing each group parameters, which provided theoretical foundation for design and construction of overlapping section.
