The installation process is a key link for promote the use of VLA. In recent years, VLA is analyzed by experiments and approximation theory. This article built the dynamic installation model of VLA by LS-DYNA, carried out the analysis on related factors that affect the embedding process.First, this article analyzed the factors that affect the length of lying chain during the promotion process of anchor chain. Some conclusions have been obtained through tests on cross-sectional area of chain, chain density and the friction coefficient between chain and sea-bed surface.Second, in considering of the anti-catenary chain affection, this article built the dynamic installation model using the fluid-solid coupling module of LS-DYNA, and discussed the factors which would influence the trajectory of fluke and the ultimate embedding depth. By changing the barycenter location, towing speed, shank design angle and fluke thickness, this article analyzed the trajectory of fluke and the ultimate embedding depth. Then, by the comparison between this model and not consider anti-catenary effect model, the trajectory at the same condition, ultimate embedded depth and the required towing force, this article analyzed the affection of the anchor chain to the process of VLA embedment.
