Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS) play the important rolein the avionic system. It can generate the signal of early warning and to avoidthe CFIT and make flight safely.This paper exposit the background, development status , function ofTAWS. The paper research the algorithm of the threshold of the forwardlooking function and the six MODES. TAWS as an important warning systemof the avionics system in civil aircraft, the method of generate and analysis thethreshold became significant.In this paper, it presents a probability statistics methodology basic on theperformance to research the generation of the threshold of TAWS. Gave theequation of trajectory of aircraft with alert and without alert, and generatedthe simulation terrain with the different steep level. This paper simulated theflight environment of six MODES and forward looking function, in themeanwhile, tradeoff the probability of incident and other parameters to get thecurve of warning threshold.To verify the theory and function of TAWS directly, this paperaccomplish a digital simulation environment of TAWS basic on MFC.
