| Owning to the difficulties and risks in the design and construction of Oil Supply Vessels (OSV), the development of such work is much slower in our country comparing with that in the advanced countries. And the gaps mainly focus on the following aspects:â‘ lack of ship types with competitive edge for the brand in the market;â‘¡short of technical reserve, there is no serialization and standardization in the productions;â‘¢insufficient in the ship type accumulation, lagging behind in the prediction of the navigational performance and optimization design;â‘£backwardness in the methods of development and design, and the design cycle is long which cannot satisfy the require of digital shipbuilding.People have woken up to the importance of the lines in the ship design. Therefore, it is a core research area for the designers, as well as the entire shipbuilding industry, to make a good line design, since it can improve the ship performance greatly. For the present, the most popular way to display the ship shape is graphic method, i.e. describing the shape feature of the ship with lines plan. The lines plan plays an important role in the ship design, which is the basis of the structure design and general arrangement, and which can also guarantee a good ship performance. Lines plan design is an important aspect in the overall design of the ships.This thesis is mainly concerning about the lines design of oil supply vessels with high power. Based on the principal dimensions of the new ship optimized from the No.71 OSV built by the Zhenjiang shipyard, the optimization procedure of the ship lines can be obtained according to the features of the ocean supply ships. The experiment is carried out to validate the design lines plan, and then, the lines series of OSV can be obtained through the transformation of the hull form based on the former work.The main efforts of this paper are focusing on:1) Investigating the relative factors and methods in the lines design, combined with the ship form features and design factors of ocean supply ships, to derive an optimized ship form.2) Validating the performance of the designed lines plan through the model test of ocean supply ships.3) Choosing the lines with good performance validated through the model test and using hull form transformation method to generate the lines series. |
