Researches On Synthetically Measurement And Planning Method Of Compact City

As sustainable development becomes more and more popular, urban sprawl ,contradiction between people and land becomes much centralized, , there is a general awareness that compact city is an important mode for sustainable development of city for which is defined as high density, compact conformation and high mixed function city. But how can a city to be the compact city and how to plan a compact city are important questions in this research field is uncertain. Especially, the research in measurement and planning method of compact city are in shortage at present. The article took synthetically measurement index system's construction and method planning of compact city as research target, explained what is compact city and how to construct compact city.From the reference, urban spatial characters and function characters were considered as important content of compact city. Compact city's urban spatial characters is: Compact Form——to keep high density of city spatial form., Compact Function——municipal functions mixed together, Compact Spatial——compact city's urban spatial. In the field of land use, public traffic, residntial zone and public space the design model of compact city is①constructing compact spatial form .②mixing city functions for short-distance trip.③piloting municipal traffic to public traffic④ascertaining development intensity by public traffic accessibility level,⑤controlling boundary for spatial compact⑥Constructing compact city and making guiding policy, putting forward the way of compact city planning construction. In the methods of model of concentric circles, model of cluster– scatter, model of TOD, model of traffic corridor, compact spatial form can be achieved.The article applied GIS space analysis technology, comprehensive evaluated spatial compactness, land mix-use,transport accessibility,energy use and Infrastructure access , so the spatial compactness can be determined.Then the article from five points introduced the way of compact city's construction such as:①constructing compact spatial form②mixing city functions for short-distance trip.③piloting municipal traffic to public traffic④ascertaining development intensity by public traffic accessibility level,⑤controlling boundary for spatial compact.The last chapter of the article took the master planning of Yuechi County, Sichuan Province (2009-2030) as experimental studies.the planning is based on the idea of compact city. The article used the synthetically measurement index system to analysis the planning method and current situation of Yuechi, from the contrast, the result of the indexes of external spatial compactness, crowding level of land, completeness of land use, functional diversity and traffic accessibility are obviously higher than current situation can be found, which illustrates compact city planning is an effective method to achieve compact city by planning.
