Auto-clutch is one of the key components of Automated Mechanical Transmission (AMT) system. Is its actuator can respond the instruction quickly and accurately or not influence the control effect of Auto-clutch directly. To improve the overall performance of Auto-clutch, scheme out actuators with fast response, small tracking error and stable performance is one of the effective way. How to design the actuator of Auto-clutch is double impacted by control strategy and its own character.This article designed one kind of hydraulic actuator for Auto-clutch, did dynamic analysis and control algorithm research according to the clutch's own character and its control policy. Wish to establish a positive design method and process for the develop of new Auto-clutch hydraulic actuator, and lay foundation for the development of new vehicle's Auto-clutch system. The main research contents of this article are shown as follows:①Introduced the principle and classification of Auto-clutch. Then the develop- ment trend and present situation of research on Auto-clutch were summarized.②Starting-up simulation model of the prototype vehicle was established based on MATLAB/Simulink, which follows the principle of engine constant-speed control. The control target in the starting-up process of Auto-clutch was obtained by simulation, and the maximum engagement speed in the shifting process was calculated by the limit of Jerk.③Analysed the handling characteristics of diaphragm spring clutch. Boundary conditions for hydraulic actuator designing were calculated based on the load- deformation characteristics of diaphragm spring, Such as the maximum displacement of release bearing and the maximum separating force of the clutch.④The design scheme of hydraulic actuator for Auto-clutch was determined. Then the actuator hydraulic system was designed, the dynamic characteristics of some key components were analysed also.⑤The mathematical model of hydraulic actuator for Auto-clutch was established. A two-loop controller with clutch position fuzzy PID control and duty cycle PID control was designed. Then a simulation model was build in order to test the dynamic response of hydraulic actuator being designed. Finally, the open-loop control principle of clutch control system was researched, and the method to solve the PWM duty cycle was find, for emergency measure in the case of closed-loop controller appear failure.
