Low-rise housing of steel frame with adobe wall is a new type of structural system which is improved the backward current status of the rural housing,and uses green and recyclable steel frame structure also combined with the adobe wall which is usually used in rural residential. This kind of structural not only guaranteed the good seismic performance of rural residential,but also takes into account the customs and characteristics of rural housing. So,it is provides the possibility of population of Low-rise housing of steel frame with adobe wall in rural area. Now there is little study on this area,therefore,the study is very meaningful.First, we use the finite element software ABAQUS to built two models,one is a two layers steel frame of single-span with wall,the other is without wall, and conpared from the structure of the load - displacement curves, stress contour, stiffness degradation and deformation of the structure, in order to show that adobe walls and steel frame work will significantly improve the lateral load resistance of the structure, increasing the overall stiffness of the structure to ensure the safety of residential.Second,by analysed the varying parameters of the finite element and calculated the simplified mechanical model, we get the stiffness formula of steel frame with adobe wall, and made the the equivalent stiffness model (single-bar model) of steel frame with adobe wall and the formula of the corresponding parameters. It's helpful to research and practical projects.Last, this paper combined with the practical of Pilot Project of Rural Residential of Technology Innovation Project'13115'of Shanxi, uses software MIDAS to analysing the stress ratio of component, peak displacement, the structural model,the cycle and other important design specifications of steel frame with adobe wall in the most adverse load conditions. And we provide the base for the pilot project design.
