With the constantly increasing number of modern car, along with the rate of the traffic accident. A huge number of casualities and serious economic loss, which brings with too much loss and inconvenience in the transportation sector.on the other hand, with the rapid development of communication technology and multimedia technology, more and more humanized service wad provided. meanwhile, drivers hopes car’s function will be better. The car was not defined as a tool for riding instead of walk, but as a human service platform.This platform have a lot of micro controllers and sensors and can form to a network. Car terminal also take development toward to integration. In the other word, car terminal takes navigation, tracking, entertainment and service as one, which makes the service more humanized, more socialization and networked.In order to reduce the traffic accident rate, protect people’s life and reduce people’s property loss, we need to improve the function of vehicle terminal. This paper designed a vehicle terminal which is based on linux operating system and ARM9as the hardware platform. A technical blue print which is based on embedded technology is proposed to solve some problems such as detecting vehicle engine oil and water temperature, GPS navigation,getting car audio entertainment function and vehicle collision avoidance.Based on zigbee wireless automatic networking technology and GPS technology, this paper designed and realized a automatic collision avoidance warning function which is applied to expressway and the drivers drive quickly and there is a far distance among drivers. Meanwhile, based on CAN bus technology combined with ultrasonic ranging sensor, the vehicle terminal should have the warning function when one car is close to the other car. In order to make vehicle terminal function more diversified and intelligent, this design combine the CAN bus technology and digital temperature sensor(DS18B20) technology, complete the function to detect engine oil and water temperature and blare out a warning; By using the GPS technology, complete the function of vehicle navigation; Through the use of QT4completed the music player,image browsing, ebook function, and designed human-computer interaction interface and realized propositional logic.
