In recent years, integrated circuit and the Design and manufacture of tools is developing very rapidly, Complex Programmable Logic devices (CPLD, Complex Programmable Logic Device) and Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA, Field Programmable Gate Array) brings major changes of Electronic Design technology, because of the short development cycle, lower cost, high reliability, modify the logic function etc, FPGA programming receive the favor of the Electronic Design Automation(EDA, Electronic Design Automation) engineers,demand for Electronic products based on FPGA is also increasing.This article is designed to develop a multifunctional taxi meter design based on VHDL language.At precent,the taxi meter based on single chip microcomputer system,poor stability and valuation mode is not flexibe,easy to cracked and cheating,so design a multi-function taxi meter based on new technology has practical significance and economic value.This article introduces the FPGA technology, based on the VHDL language in view of the existing taxi meter hardware and software in a series of improvements, and for industry application and regional characteristics of new developed some functions.This paper first discussed the development of the related principle of FPGA and VHDL according to user requiremments industry application and regional characteristics,the design principle of the meter taxi are analyzed in detail,then gives the concrete scheme of hardware design and train of thoughe,and using VHDL hardware description language to achieve the concrete algorithm and function.Finally,the designed based on VHDL language multi-function meter taxi function to carry on the experiment,the test results show that based on VHDL language of multi-function meter taxi compared with the traditional meter with strong performance,high stability,the design method is simple and changeful,short development cycle,the meter is small in size and the advantages of the powerfuI.This design not only to realize the basic function of the meter taxi,considering the industry particularity,aslo increased the password setting,flexible billing standard setting,flexible air-conditioning fees,fule surcharge and other new functions,makes the design more practical value.In this design using FPGA chip as the main design,using VHDL language to write the required program,so it has a very strong function of the transplant, is advantageous to the upgrading of the produt.Development platform using Quartus â…¡9.1software.
