The car has developed more than 100 years since the invention of the car in 1886. With the apperance and development of the car,the motormeter has been developing and evolving as well. From the simple mechanical speedometer at first to the integrated information platform which includes speedometer, water thermometer,fuel meter and so on,the dashboard contains more and more information and its internal structure is more complex. In order to ensure all the information is displayed correctly and timely and provide the driver with a safe and reliable information,the testing of the instruments before its delivery is particularly important. Meanwhile, because of the upgrating of the motormeter,new products appears constantly but the old ones still have their advantages in some cases, how to develop a calibrator which can test most of the motormeters has become an important and tremendously meaningful subject.This design simulates the sensors and provides singals according to the principle of the Automobile Sensors,and it is designed to be a special calibrator for motormeter.In the research,FPGA of Cyclone serials from Altera Company is used as the digital platform, it can generate analog signals,digital signals,switch signals by using the VHDL in FPGA. The whole system can output the sine wave signals with frequencies ranging from 1Hz to 9999Hz,and the minimum step frequency is 1Hz.It is perfected to generate kinds of signals such as PM. It can also provide the resistance signals ranging from 0.5Ωto 999.9Ωfor fuel meter and water thermometer, and the resolution is 0.1Ω; in addition, it can provide the step motor signal ranging from 10 to 4000r/min for the mechanical instruments,besides,it can provide a group of output voltage which can be programmed between 0V and 26V (its electric current is 2A)to check whether the bulbs are good.It investigated and studied the present situation of the testing system for motormeter and the exist question.Analyzing almost all kinds of motormeters,aiming at the features and difficulty of specific areas, and researching the union place have provided the fulfillments useful experience. This thesis introduced the realization of the system in software,hardware and emulation in detail. The obtained results show that this system can meet the requirements of complex environment and can be expanded as well. Because it provided testing signals by FPGA,the number of the hardware resources have been reduced,its integration is higher, the volume of the system is smaller and it is more portable. If the internal program or the external circuit is changed a little,then you can test different products,so it is very flexible and has good application prospect. |
