At present, as the settlement terminal of power corporation and electricity users, the electronic energy meter has been put into use very widely. Its reliability directly affects the operation of electronic energy meter safely, stably and reliably, meanwhile, it has become a hot issue of much concern. The reasonable prediction of electronic energy meter’s reliability has a great social significance for saving social labor cost and improving the level of scientific and technological content of electronic energy meter. This paper investigates techniques of electronic energy meter’s reliability prediction from following aspects. Firstly, it puts forward that the life index of electronic energy meter should be reliable life through studying the basic theory and concept of reliability; Secondly, it studies reliable prediction methods and prediction procedures, as well as defines the most suitable prediction procedure for the reliability prediction of electronic energy meter is Telcordia SR-332; And the, it points out the shortages of prediction procedure and for the first time it proposes the harmonic impact factors of electronic energy meter based on the study of environmental factors, combined with harmonic tests, at the same time, it raises the model of reliability prediction according to harmonic factor. Finally, it estimates reliability of DDZY71 type single-phrase intelligent electric-energy meter combined with Telcordia SR-332 prediction procedure and harmonic impact factor, as well as analysis the level of reliability of the key components. Besides, it put forward measures for improving the reliability prediction and increasing reliability of electronic energy meter.
