On The Wells Of The Shang Dynasty In The Central Plains

The well is a more common kind of vestige in archaeological excavation.Based on previous archaeological findings and previous research results,we try to study systematically and deeply the well of Shang period in the central plains region by using the basic theory and research method of archaeology.We firstly introduce the well’s archaeological discovery of Shang period in the central plains region, based on comparing the well and cellar shape characteristics of similarities and differences, and put forward the judgment standard of the well, which of the core factor is the remains about well water. Secondly, according to the structure characteristic of the well,the well of Shang period in the central plains region can be divided into two classes and five types; and through the analysis of the accumulation inside wells, we sum up the construction of the well of Shang period in the central plains region,which includes the accumulation of constructing, the accumulation of using and the accumulation of abandonning.Again, based in summing up the evolution characteristic of potteries from wells,the well of Shang period in the central plains region can be divided into two phases and four segments, and we has further analyzed the age of part well.Finally, through the contrastive analysis, we simple summarize the origin and development of the well of Shang period in the central plains region.
