| Hsien-shan roof(Gable and hip roof)is one of the most important roof forms of Chinese traditional building for its high grade,versitility and typical technology,so that the Hsien-shan roof is one of the most important research objects of the Chinese architecture history,especially of the history of technology of Chinese traditional timber structure.In addition,the period of Chinese Tang,Song and Jin Dynasty(From 782 AD to 1234 AD)is a critical period in which span the technology of Hsien-shan roof went through a process from embryo to maturity,thus this period is an unavoidable important stage to understand improvement process of the traditional technology of the Hsien-shan roof.Geographically,almost 88% of the existing remains with Hsien-shan roof which had been established during the period of Chinese Tang,Song and Jin Dynasty had concentrated in the areas of Jin,Ji and Yu in Chinese Central Plains Region.This paper adopts the typological method to analyze the timber structure of buildings with Hsien-shan roof which had been built from782 AD to 1234 AD in areas of Jin,Ji and Yu from the perspective of technology of the construction of the gable framework of the Hsien-shan roof.The main content is to set up a time scale of technology of gable framework of Hsien-shan roof.According to this,the paper finds out the rheological characteristics of the construction of gable framework of Hsien-shan roof during this period and discusses the logical relationship between the construction and the outlook of the buildings behind of the technological evolvement.The paper will supplement and improve the research on Chinese architecture history,especially the research on Chinese technology history;futher,it helps to understand and interpret the historical document on technology of buildings in North-Song Dynasty Ying-Tsao Fa-Shih.In addition,it has certain guiding significance for the future investigation,protection and repair of ancient buildings. |
