With the development of social economy, the traffic congestion problem of each big city is increasingly serious in our country, increasing supersaturated intersection, seriously hindered the traffic flow. Signal intersection is one of the basic elements of the city road network. Individual oversaturated intersection, especially critical supersaturated intersection will lead to a wide range of traffic congestion.When the planning and design of intersection, increasing the number of lanes by broadening the import way is an effective way to improve intersection capacity. But due to the limitations of urban road space, the randomness and variability of traffic flow, broadening overflow section vehicle has become a common traffic phenomenon. In the existing traffic control measures, traffic signal control can be effectively ease traffic congestion and ensure the orderly operation of the traffic flow under the established traffic demand and road network structure. Therefore, this paper takes a single supersaturated signal intersection as research object, aiming at the coordinating relations between broadening section form and signal control plan, emphasize studies how to through signal control optimization base on broadening section to make full use of the intersection space resources to accommodate the vehicle queuing in supersaturated state, balance the traffic pressure of each direction, improve the traffic efficiency of intersections.First of all, the thesis takes the supersaturated signal intersection which has different broadening section channelizing design form as the research objects, investigates flow dissipating rate on the peak, qualitative summarizes the influence of broadening section set to saturation flow rate during the green light, on the basic of saturation flow rate, the traffic signal control and evaluation. By actual observation, the thesis quantitative analyzes change rule of saturation flow rate during vehicle overflowed broadening section. On the basis of the above theory, the thesis presents the signal control target of the single oversaturated intersection considered the broadening section.Secondly, the thesis builds vehicle delay model and vehicle queuing model in that the number of left lane is deficiency or the number of broadening lane is deficiency circumstanceunder the broadening vehicle overflow condition on the basic of traffic state of broadening vehicle overflow, actual law of the observed, broadening canalization design form. These models provide gist for the establishment of signal control objective function.Again, on the basic of the above vehicle delay model and vehicle queuing model the thesis built corresponding signal control optimization model in that the number of left lane is deficiency or the number of broadening lane is deficiency circumstances. These two circumstances both are single import setting broadening section. Then the thesis built the signal control optimization model for the whole imports setting broadening section. At last the availability of signal timing optimization method in the previous chapter was verified by means of Matlab and Vissim simulation..Finally, this thesis summarizes the research progress and main.achievements of the full text, and put forward the content to further improve and explore in the process of research.
