With the development of Beijing economy, it brings a series of social problemsincluding the city traffic congestion. Signal intersections as an important part of cityroad network, plays an important role in road cohesion. Preliminary statistics, it hasmore than2000signal intersections in Beijing rings, researching the releasecharacteristics of signal intersection traffic flow in Beijing can play an important rolein relieving traffic congestion.For the wide variety of signal intersection in Beijing, this paper mainly studiedfactors of the signal intersection saturation time headway and its application. Theresearch firstly applied the orthogonal experimental to design method based on thelane number, lane width of straight lane group, the road cross section form andintersecting road width and selected appropriate orthogonal experiment table; Andthen through the signal control system based on the experimental design form, thepaper selected target signal intersections, and obtained headway and saturated timeheadway; The paper applied range analysis methods to analysis different influencefactors on the straight saturated time headway of traffic impact degree, and showedthe degree from weight to light: intersecting road width>the road cross section form>the lane number>lane width of straight lane group;Finally the study showedsignal intersection calculation model for saturation time headway in Beijing, and thecalibration and verification work.
