With the rapid development of technology and economy of society, the ultrasonic vibration systems which are made with the principle of ultrasonic technology get much attention. The properties and shape of radiators are closely related to their application. For instance,comparing with some acoustic wave focusing technologies, phased-array focusing technology can control the size, location and depth of focus accurately with rapider switching speed and plays an important role in ultrasonic focusing and infrasonic focusing technology. In addition, the beam direction of phased-array is demanded much stricter. It is important to analyse the characteristics of radiation acoustic field of single element and piston transducer belongs to them.The study of radiated sound field of sound source of piston is one of the basic issue in acoustics research and the main directions are characteristics of direction of radiated acoustic pressure and radiation impedance. As important parameters in evaluating properties of ultrasonic vibration systems, characteristics of direction of radiation acoustic pressure and radiation impedance are often used to assess acoustic radiation power of the systems and vibration quality of radiation bodys. In this way, it’s meaningful to research the direction of acoustic pressure and radiation impedance of piston sound source. The shape of radiation surface of piston sound source is determined by the characteristics of direction and the field which is used. It is quite difficult to solve the sound field which is produced by piston sound source with irregular shape in mathematic. Therefore, the piston sound source can be considered as point source, planar and sphero sound source. Radiator is solved as planar source in piston sound source and vibrate along the normal line. As the most familiar sound source, circular piston, ring piston, rectangular piston, hexagonal piston and square piston have been researched a lot in the characteristics of radiation.The radiation of sound field with rhombic piston is studied in this paper and consists of the following aspects:1. The distribution of sound pressure and the directivity of rhombic piston is researched with rayleigh integral. The 3D sound pressure image is simulated by the software of mathematicas which analyzed the directivity of rhombic piston with different frequency and shape.2.Based on rhombic piston, the distribution of sound pressure and the directivity of rhombic ring piston are further analyzed. With controlling variate method, rhombic ring piston with rhombic piston in different frequency and shape are compared.3. According huygens principle, the space distribution of sound pressure of phased array consisted with some rhombic piston is derived.4. Firstly, geometric solving model is built with differential element method. Secondly, formular of quadslope of radiation impedance which is produced by the sound source of rhombic piston is detruded and the numerial solution of radiation impedance is solved with numerial integrable method. The relation between its parameter which include frequency and the size of rhombic piston and radiation impedance of sound source of rhombic piston is studied.
