Traditional houses is the material carrier of traditional culture, or is a form of material culture and cultural phenomenon. In the traditional local style dwelling houses building contains a large number of regional culture. Is an important channel for us to study the traditional architecture. Chengdu plain is located in the Sichuan basin the blessing heart, conceived the Bashu culture and splendid. This area holds a large number of traditional residential architecture, which have high historical and cultural value. So the research to traditional folk art Chengdu area is an important part of research in the area of architectural art. With high academic research value,simultaneously also has the protection and development of traditional dwellings help Chengdu plain.In this paper, based on the traditional residential architecture in Chengdu area,through the investigation of some traditional folk houses, starting from the construction itself facade, space and decoration characteristics and other internal factors, combined with the building environment, history and culture and other external factors and summarizes its basic characteristics, and reveal its deep cultural connotation. To improve traditional architecture research system of Chengdu area,provide important reference for the modern architecture and design.Chengdu area of traditional houses numerous, it as an important historical heritage and cultural landscape resources, conducts the analysis research has important significance for the development of their regional traditional culture. And now it has become be placed in jeopardy, it proposed the new task to the protection of the traditional houses in the area and development. This is where the significance of this study.
